It is as living on the deep seabed,
As a stratum that carves the mystery of life.

In Omi, the eternal land that surrounds Lake Biwa,
Profound scenes of the universe spread out.

滑らかな空気。香り高い木々の森。
清水の湧く湖。穏やかな文明の気配。

それはまるで、深深たる海底に息づく、
生命の神秘を刻む地層のように。

琵琶湖を取り囲む悠久の大地、近江には、
万物が織り成す奥深い情景が広がる。

About this project

The “Layered Omi” project was launched with the aim of registering Hikone Castle as a World Heritage Site in 2025.

With Hikone Castle as a symbol, the Omi area is alive with fertile nature and a history spun by people. They have overlapped with each other in the swaying flow of time. Just as "layer".

Those layers have quietly fascinated people, from the source of grace to precious cultural heritage. We try to spread the attractions to the world while spinning them into a story one by one.

彦根城の2025年・世界遺産登録を目指して立ち上がった “Layered Omi”プロジェクト。
彦根城をシンボルとして、豊穣な自然と、人々が紡いだ歴史が息づく近江エリア。それらが、たゆたう時の流れの中で重なり合ってきた。まるで、“層＝レイヤー”のように。

恵の水源から、貴重な文化遺産まで、静かに人々を魅了してきたレイヤー。私たちは、その魅力を、ひとつずつ物語に紡ぎながら世界へと発信してまいります。

「世界遺産でつながるまちづくりコンソーシアム」（2021年11月17日設立）は、経済・観光団体が相互に連携と理解を深め、各地域固有の資源を生かしながらその力を結集し、彦根城の世界文化遺産登録の実現と、登録後のまちづくりに向けて取り組むことを目的としております。構成団体は、湖東湖北5市4町（長浜市・米原市・彦根市・東近江市・近江八幡市・多賀町・甲良町・豊郷町・愛荘町）の商工団体、観光団体など23団体です。
